  1. yep, hung bros has them, you can find them on display at the entrance with the audio-technica earphones. i'm skeptical as to their effectiveness though.
  2. along the lines of that analogy, hang out at hardcore gaming forums and you'll probably find people who rant about people using stock mice, using trackball instead of optical (instead of laser) anyway, i'm seeing um1's a lot more these days, and other low-profile types as well saw a gentleman with e5c some days ago alighting at amk mrt
  3. There is the cost savings, but I believe local distributors will not provide free servicing. You may have to send it abroad for servicing at your own cost, time and risk. You may want to try it for the higher end ones (saves up to $200 for Shure e5, I believe), but if you're looking at entry level (UM1, e2 et cetera), should stick to Jaben and SE.
  4. hmm, another spugger who needs his fix...
  5. Just wondering how you guys care for your IEM. Local weather and IEM use is such that you can't quite avoid sweat and even wax on the unit and cable. I was thinking of using alcohol (ethanol) wipes. Anyone had problems with that before? Like maybe it happens to melt away the cable, or makes it dry up and crack? How about using propylene glycol? Paraben?
  6. this is strange. I was just posting earlier today in a 'anyone else here digs ost' thread and now it's gone.
  7. Tainaka Sachi and Suara are worth listening if you're looking for good vocals, both have a lot of potential. Only they're more anime-inclined pop than mainstream Jpop.
  8. 3mW max input? O.O And the eartips look foam-ish. Price sucks though.
  9. The default batt is only 1300mAh...
  10. Are you using the iPod batt for your replacement?
  11. Hmm, a new member using his first post to initiate an MO and collecting deposits. Legit or not, I think some caution is in order.
  12. I'm dying to get a pair to try, seeing how everyone's so hot about this.
  13. Meaning to say iriver's amp chip has crosstalk?
  14. Umm, can you elaborate on the part about true line out? I don't have a good understanding about how it works, and the thing with shared volume too. Thanks.
  15. But I suppose you can't argue with the battery life, anything more than 20 hours is a godsend.
  16. The e10 is now going for 399 (instead of 449) in an advertised offer... only, SE doesn't seem to be part of the promotion. The e10 is sweet, but H3xx got bigger screen and line in/out, I gian.
  17. Bump Looking for H1xx/H3xx players. Anyone knows where or how much? Or is it way too much to harbour hopes of finding a brand new one? Thanks.
  18. Seems like it's only available in the CN and TW market... A bit suspicious...
  19. 4 years ago - played with mixers and amps, Peavey's and Toa's 3 years ago - started paying attention to the 20-year-old Yamaha setup at home 1.5 years ago - got my first Discman =D half a year ago - got my ER6i =D
  20. Just wondering. The Shures plug into custom molds without any adaptors, right? Maybe those could work for the 6i's, but only a little tighter?
  21. I've tried many other pairs out, albeit for only a while, and am glad to say I still like the ER6i's sound - for its clarity and thin but tight bass. I can't say much for the build quality though - always living in fear of the cable snapping. (Only recently got a replacement for a spoilt pair - cable problem) Next up, E4c, maybe.
  22. The player doesn't look half bad and might actually sell well. Only, I wished it supported Ogg.
  23. Just a word of warning: guys at SPUG forums tried to MO Shures from the US once. Turns out the local distributor won't honour the warranty; you'll have to send them back to the US for servicing. After that, a few online retailers said that Shure told them not to ship here, apparently at the request of our local distributor. Ref
