How about trying the Grado SR60? You should mention your $$$ for a headphone.......

Although Anything Audio isn't in the forum but there are the usual beyer supporter/s who never fail to miss a recommendation for a good headphone, since i haven't own a beyer yet, that will be one of my new year resolution before Feb. 1) Sennheiser PX-200 - about $95++ 2) AKG K26P - about $79++ ( similar to the PX-200 but more emphasis on the bass section) 3) Sennheiser HD-201 - about $39++ ( more of a standard headphone )

Can't be...... sounds more like AT OEM for them. I recall too many brands of earphone and headphones look like the ATs, like creative and B & O, now cresyn..... unless every company OEM a few for them.

lol.... Look at your discman. Headphone output is the hole(layman term) you insert your earphones. Line out is the hole you find in most mid priced discman from Sony or Panasonic, some cheap new range don'y have this anymore.

Thought the E5c is a higher impedence earphone compare to the E4c? Isn't that gonna be a little difficult to drive?

The G series is design for gaming purposes, or sony PSP, so the cable is short..... like 0.5 or 0.7m. I think this the original E series in black.

It sounds good even before the burn in, anyway it'll sound only slightly better even if it's "fully burn" in. I can never be happy with only one setup, one pair of speakers, one headphone or one MP3 player no matter how ultimate it may be, I like to try new stuff. MDR-E888 is history to me, during my schooling days which I can't remember when was that, back then it was the best of best, used with my Sony walkman to my Sony discman. Hope you receive your pa2v2 before chinese new year......

Tried the audio technica w1000 (?? correct model?) at stereo the other day I bought the ec7, but I strongly recommend to bring along your own source, their pioneer dvd player sucks big time.... but can't remember if they have the A900. And If you're going hung bros, avoid the hairy guy ( ) like what heady said.

All thanks to bpribadi I just bought one from stereo yesterday, something very different from my shure's but in a good way. Very transparent vocals and excellent highs, bass is tight ( tried some double bass jazz pieces) and define. Of course, in terms of isolation it can't beat the shure's, but nevertheless a good earphone when I'm sick of my shure's.

Actually yesterday I drop by stereo to get some banana plugs and other stuffs, I realise that they practically have every brand of earphone and headphones in singapore except beyer which according to them would be avaliable soon. Unfortunately they don't have a good enough source and headphone amplifier to demo, if not demo-ing the hd600 wouldn't be a problem too...... that's also provided woodlands is not that far to you.

I would recommand the Grado 325i and you can audition it at either music by design or stereo, as for sennheiser hd-600/650 you can audition at top level of Tangs but please don't buy them there...... $$$$ as for beyer, yes, anything audio at parklane.

wow, the amplifier looks interesting..... and surprisingly affordable from audio technica, they don't make something so cheap all the time. Please update me on the amplifier when its here mr stereo.

AKG K26P is a fine headphone but if you don't mind the size and price you can give the grado SR60 a try. Suits your music taste at $120.

i agree with lengcm. Source is probably the problem.
