Also, I've got a feeling HUNG BROTHER's gonna have a good price on these W5000s if they were to bring them in. I bought the L3000's for only $2620 from them. Thats an insanely good price IMO.

Look, no point getting them as single ones. AT has already told bluetin that they would be shipping in pairs since the drivers need to be match by them. Also, the W5000 is pretty old news aint it? Been out for sometime and everyone's waiting eagerly for its launch. At almost 80 000 yen, thats the retail price for the ATH-AD2000 headphone eh? Very cheap and good price I would say.

The L3000 is one can that I feel has been marked up like mad....I mean, the drivers are only $84 on bluetin each....So what about the leather and wood, they aren't worth much too....But still, typical headfi virus struck me and i bought them. Don't regret but have always been wondering what the 3 grand went into....

The Stax 404 is actually pretty cheap. its the whole system, thats right, the AMP that makes it expensive. Even so, $1300 for a 4040 system in Japan is not that expensive. Amp and headphone, how bout that? A great bargain i would say.

Seriously, the K1000 gave me a great listening time but the comfort was horrid!

Oops, hehe erm, my HF-1's had only about 30 hours on them.....Cause, I listen to other cans on a rotational basis, so probably there wasnt enough time to burn them in..

I think that the K1000's had a very unique sound indeed. The "hologramic" sound whereby you could really tell where each instruments were placed was really enjoyable. The bass was not that deep but controlled and punchy and that did surprise me quite alot considering the fact that ppl over the other side of the globe(heafiers) said that it was weaker in the bass department. However, one thing that puts me off about the K1000 is its HIGHS. Its just a tad too harsh to my liking. However, this is not really a fair review since no one had the right amp to drive the K1000s. Overall, the sound was impressive but not the most enjoyable.

I am thinking of bringing down my L3000's but they're not burnt in so maybe will wait till the next meet.

Btw, are you going to the meet tomorrow? I think that I might be going most probably... Let me have about a few hours now to decide.....Will be bringing down my AD2000's and HF-1's if I'am going.
