    Emi Fujita

agree with razer. that song is quite lovely. it's on the "my special thanks" album.
  3. hi dragonboy, interested to hear your impressions. would you be amping them or using the headphone out?
  4. hi ezzo, at high volumes, the treble can get a bit shrill for me. but since your friend likes low volumes, should be alright. that said, i find the sound brighter on my mp3 player than on my md player. source could matter too.
  5. i found the recording of Getz/Gilberto Vol.2: Live at Carnegie Hall pretty wicked. recorded in 1964 i think.
  6. hi, what sort of music does she listen to? i've been using CK7s for more than a year and love them lots. also listen to them at mid-low volumes except on bus or MRT.

    Emi Fujita

if i recall correctly, emi fujita does the eva version right? if you like emi's voice, you may want to check out a japanese album titled "my special thanks" by a duo called "Le Couple" which is emi and her husband (on guitar).

    ER4Ps

hi guys thanks for your comments. ferrari85: saw the review on the Q-Jays online some time ago. thanks for the reminder! nofing: thanks for your comments. i actually find the CK7s give a pretty tight bass, though a bit lean at times on some recordings. the bass comes through better on my HiMD than on my U3 (even though both are recording from the same CD source), wonder why though. i took 2-3 years before deciding on the iAudio U3 so .... will try to see if it's possible to take a listen to the ER4Ps or Q-Jays before choosing.

    ER4Ps

dear all trying to take my mind off the fact that liverpool is down 1-0 by a silly own goal. so am thinking of whether i should bite the bullet and get a pair of ER4Ps. upgrading from my CK7s. sources are primarily iAudio U3 and HiMD N1 player. music i tend to listen to include songs with lots of vocals & guitar accompaniment, classical, and jazz. budget, well, i'm more a "if-it-sounds-good-to-me-it's-worth-it" kinda of person. so if a pair of cheaper IEMs can improve my audio experience more than my CK7s i'm most willing to give it a shot. would love to have your views, especially since the ER4Ps are pretty pricey. cheers
  10. the new starhub coverage of english soccer is dismal. am quite miffed. apparently folk living around changi can get better premiership coverage from indonesia.
  11. bit off topic but just had to say that i just got a recording of david oistrakh performing the tchaikovsky violin concerto ....... makes all other violin concertos seem a distant memory i think. *my hero*
  12. saw the colourful array of CK1s at changi airport. they look definately look nice as a gift, especially if they sound decent. have a pair of CK7s and quite like the audio technica sound. should give the CK1s a spin sometime.
  13. if you don't mind second-hand ones, panasonic pcdps appear on auctions sites such as yahoo now and then.
  14. best denki thomson plaza has a set going for $141.
  15. hi Blues, can i just say that your shot of labrador park is simply breathtaking.
  16. hi, i saw a set at best denki thomson plaza last sunday. will keep a lookout for you tomorrow when i go there.
  17. thanks for the suggestion. will keep this in mind. cheers
  18. wow. thanks for all the comments. food for thought definately. pramilainc: have read some comments that the etys provide pretty neutral reproductions for vocals and instrumental tracks. if that's true, then i'd probably try and take a listen to them.
  19. thanks for the link DemonicAngelz. if i increased my budget to $200-250, would there be other IEMs that are like the CK7s but not as bright on the top? cheers
  20. thanks DemonicAngelz. have read reviews on the mylar phones, they seem to perform well with amps. i don't intend to go down the amp route so they are probably not for me. guess there's no way to know the difference between the UM1s and my CK7s except to test them out for myself. in terms of character though, are they quite different in your opinion? cheers
  21. hi all am not very familiar with IEMs but am thinking of getting a pair to go with my iaudio U3 and md players. budget about $150-200. genre of music mainly lots of vocals and instruments. present phones are CK7s and PX200s. strangely enough, i find that my CK7s go better with my U3 and the PX200 with my md players. not sure if it's just my imagination. like the clarity on the CK7s but it's a bit bright on higher registers. appreciate your views. thanks!
  22. hi primus, have you had a chance to listen to the Rachmaninov recordings by Vladimir Ashkenazy? if so, how do they compare to your leif ove andsnes version?
