  1. I see you have a Cayin tube CD player, this will be great for your collection
  2. Yepp, it's for sale now, going for S$310. Condition: Mint Bought new at about S$390 from Stefan. You might have tried them over the stock cable at the last meet. PM me.
  3. Anyone owns the Sony D-5 portable CDP - the first portable ever made - bought them at this shop call Cost Plus in Scotts Shopping Centre, if you are old enough to remember them. Cost me S$1200 then. It was my first portable CDP, regret selling it away, looking to buy them back in the used market.
  4. Hey Blues, can you comment on your sonic experience with the 3K? Thanks
  5. On some jazz CDs with just simple instrumentation and vocals, you can if even hear the musicians flipping the scores, the plucking of the strings/bass etc. But these mostly recorded live direct from the mic source and without any multi-track enhancements.

  7. Yes, I splice it, like in the Equinox.
  8. Cost, very cheap. Type, I think it is the Canare L-2B2AT. Plugs, 1/4 inch stereo plugs from the storeroom + the minis from stock cable. Time, 3 hours. Design, same twisted pair design as in the Equinox. Gratification, yes! TOTAL Cost, less than ten dollars - not including the cost of of the stock cable.
  9. Completed my DIY Sennheiser cables using some Canare this morning. For that I had to "castrate" my old stock cables for that tiny connectors. From Barradio's and my own observations, looks like the Equinox people did the same thing - ie. salvaging the connectors from the old stock cables. Initial impression of this new cable is quite positive - same bass extension as the Equi, faster mids plus less "veil" - all this evaluation done new with no burnin-time on a HD580. Definately one up the old stock cables. Will post again after my customary 100 hours burnin-time.
  10. New NOS Siemens CCa tubes x 1 pair, produced in the 60s. Do a search on the web and you'll know what I meant by premium. Going for S$300 firm for the pair, come with original box. PM me if your are interested.
  11. Any chance of you posting some pics, and maybe some comments on the sound of the combo.
  12. And that is what I'll call A pRoFiLe! Mod edit: Default, Sorry dude, no posting till next page!
  13. For the record, I almost snap a gem of the a tuner recently for S$1000 - the Day Sequerra - the no. one radio on my list - have you heard of this piece of equipment. Waited years for this baby but I was just that little late for the purchase, what a bummer!
  14. yeh yeh yeh, but did you check out the $$$$$$$$s?
  15. Check out the high rollers with the $$$$$ in in US meet. Guys we should be aiming for this kind of gears. http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showthread....&threadid=41890
  16. Go for the PSX-R upagrade, I've one for my CD7Q- it is simply an euphoric experience!
  17. I guess so, but they'll only sell to the dealers.
  18. Ahh! Another air insulation, further enhance my theory on dilelectric design. This is very tedious and expensive design to execute. The best IMHO is still Taralabs the ZERO design - vacuum instead of air, but than again they cost like 10Ks a pair. Thanks for the info.
  19. The orpheus is the most Cans in the universe Ouch, have to consider ssseriouslyyy. Most importantly must not let my wife know, any woman can spend thousands on shoes and handbags but will nag even if you even dare order an extra bowl of wanton mee at the hawker centre.
  20. You can probably order one from any Cayin dealers in Shanghai. Most of the dealers do not keep stock of the product.
  21. I don't think they are available in Singapore. There is a Cayin dealer over at Asiawide Building but I do not think they have them. Will be too expensive to ship from China - bout 8-9kg - might also damage the tubes. I was told a Chinese dealer that the price might be reduced later in the year, currently bout RMB 2kish I think.
