  1. i'm also very weary. but this dugood is doin' real fine for about a year now. no problems whatsoever.
  2. confirmed, i saw it at Hung Bros. this damm rare MAI TOO LIAO la.
  3. anybody tried soldering Sennheiser's cable connectors to their favorite cable of choice? are the connectors available for purchase anywhere?
  4. HD600? nice and it needs good amp. the dugood will bring the best out of it. i understand that the dugood was voiced and designed with the HD600 so it will make a natural partner.
  5. the only way u'll know is to go to ahfart audio and try.
  6. using it with Senn 600 & Beyer 531. a perfect match with 600. the Dugood has ultra smooth mids & highs with good detail giving the dark-sounding Senns some life. slightly thin but taut bass which keeps the Senn's lower end in check. good synergy and drive. internals can be modded for further improvement. plus at that price, it's a no-brainer. but it sounds too bright with my AKG 701 and Beyer 831, both cans which have lively upper end. it's all about matching really so Loop, what cans are u using?
  7. more recent info here http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/balance...phones/one.html
  8. i would change the source first. checkout new ones by Samsung & Cowon.
  9. err...yepp is samsung. so your list should read: iriver, samsung, cowon. mostly a matter of preference but i'll pick Samsung for now.
  10. how would the audiophools laugh when they sell Kimber, WBT & Accuphase?

    Imod or not?

yep. it gives the rest of the components down the chain the chance to perform their best.
  13. wait till you hear it at 400+ hours.
  14. this is gonna be THE KILLA IEM. even Ray Samuel's a huge fan.
  15. that's great news. plus u'll be back then.
  16. gain aside, the amp must have the ability to drive the 701 without congestion, especially when u have to cope with the intense dynamic swings of full-scale classical or even the thumping midbass of dance & hip-hop.
  17. take note that the 701 when properly amped should feel like u're in a big hall instead of the small room.
  18. i didn't take a look at the back panel. but should be the usual RCA suspects.
  19. beautiful! what cans are being driven?
  20. u know what? i had the exact same experience when i got my 701 from stereo. i tried almost all the top cans you've mentioned & more. after going thru all the cans, the AKG tops them all easily. it's a huge veil lifted, and played the best thru more genres than the rest. as for the GS1000's, i easily preferred the cheaper RS1, but my skull could never take the Grado discomfort. excellent drivers though. here's the tricky part. the 701's were driven by a most excellent headamp at stereo, the Higher Fidelity HF-HA01. i only realised that when i took the whities home, burnt it in continuously in the corner of my storeroom for at least a month. the existing amps i had, dugood ea-600 & ibasso P1 just could not drive the 701's without breaking up and congestion during complex passages, the bass was also difficult to wring out. all this while, the superior staging and super smooth mids and highs were still there. i then proceeded to look for the ideal all over town. borrowed a friend's Creek & Rega headamps, but they sounded worse than my amps. tried the MF X-Cans V3 hybrid, Lehmann SS, Diva hybrid, Sugden SS, Lite Audio Mosfets, they're all good amps in their own right & but with the 701's they still suffered from congestion. they just didn't give me the same effortless drive like the HF could. and all of my auditions were using sources that were many times more expensive than the budget Marantz stereo uses. thus i might have to save up for the HF after a tiring search.
  21. i can second the Cardas recommendation.
  22. good mobile SQ? nothing comes close to SonyE. heard the output from the 880 and it's very good. plus it's got removable mem and the slim profile is damm chio. for once a SonyE doesn't look like an ugly cake bar. eyeing 1 for myself once my old contract is up. go for it!
  23. also consider the Sennheiser HD25-1. supra-aural closed cans so u dun disturb anyone while commuting. built for ultimate abuse and no sweat absorbing pads. efficient enough to be driven by your DAP. http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/icm_eng.nsf/root/502188
