  1. Well, I think I'm an anomaly. I have quite large ears so that might be the reason. Somehow the nozzle seems to point in a strange direction for me. I have UE ears.
  2. Well, I heard tube amps can't be left on for too long because they might spoil the circuitry. Woo Audio advises not to leave it on for more than 10 hours at a time. Personally I would do that, but I need to conserve my iPod's battery (for commuting the next day) and my iQube's battery (since the Energizer E2 isn't cheap).
  3. From the sound of it, do you guys leave it playing overnight? If not I don't know how you can clock so many hours in such a short period. I take my time to listen every night, the resolution is indeed quite stunning. Guitar + RS-1 =
  4. Don't have a home rig yet. Spent way too much already, saving very slowly for the last component in my home setup (I still need to learn driving).
  5. Congrats on your new rig. For classical buffs, jumping straight to electrostats is a great move.
  6. SF5Pro/UM2 would be quite good choices, I'll throw a few more your way. Klipsch Image X10 - Well balanced sound, nice bass and good highs. Unsure of price though. SA6 - Fantastic (no kidding) for vocals, adjustable bass and treble may work for you. $300ish. SF5 - Different from the Pro version, better or not I can't comment because I have not heard it. Atrio - If you want good bass and a nice natural presentation, this is the one for you. Less than $300. On the ones you have shortlisted, SF5Pro - I find this to be on of the most "upgrade-able" IEM out there (no offence to current owners) simply because there really isn't anything long lasting about it. It's just good, but not great. With the obvious TF10 existing, it really becomes very upgrade-able indeed. Aftermarket cables such as Null Audio or ES2 could change the sound, for better or worse is for you to decide. UM2 - It's easy to understand why people like the UM2 so much. Warm, mellow and more than enough bass (for me). I simply can't fit Westones so I didn't consider it. And for the UM2, an upgrade is not immediately obvious because the Westone 3 has a different sound signature from it (a more balanced one). Finally, try try and try again. I don't buy my stuff until I've gotten at least 3 tries with it and at least one session being 1 hour long to test for fatigue. Good luck.
  7. wkwlb has the Apache, not me I'm afraid. My plan to get a new amp failed miserably.
  8. I dream of their amps... Or a Headphile stand. WOOD ALL THE WAY.
  9. I love her voice too. Try That CD Shop at Pacific Plaza, I believe they even have her remastered first album. Might be getting her 2nd album.
  10. Bread and water helps you manage your money, it certainly helps me.
  11. Fantastic points made by Tubeman, I agree fully. It is difficult though, to find an amp you like before finding a headphone you like since synergy comes into play I believe. To put this simply, perhaps you've been a fan of the HD650 sound but have only heard it with the NX-33 and do not think it's that great. Then, you try the K701+WA6 and it blows you away even though AKGs have never been your thing. I'm sure both amps provide this "quality power" mentioned by Tubeman, just that synergy between amp and headphone certainly plays a big part in your decision making too IMO. Do note that my examples are hypothetical, I've not tried the abovementioned combinations just trying to put my point across.
  12. If things work out, might be bringing a new amp. @wkwlb: I think this meet with be the biggest meet ever with that new headphone of yours.
  13. Hmm, retail price is USD299, so I don't think it will bust your wallet as badly as the Pico. Plus it has optical input.
  14. Well, you could wait for the new iBasso D10 Cobra.
