  1. Sky juice, what are the 1st and 5th albums?
  2. Have no experience with itunes so I can't help you there. If you are a windows user, try downloading a frontend for LAME. Either Multi frontend or ALL2LAME. From the program, locate the lame.exe and change the switches to -V X. -V 2 is the preferred one. Drag the wav files to the program and click encode.
  3. Rameish, Do try out the LAME mp3 encoder instead. It is supposed to be the best of the VBR encoders. http://www.rarewares.org/mp3.html Get the LAME 3.97 beta 1 version. Hmmmm I'm not sure how do you convert in Mac as I am a Windows guy. Anyway, if you managed to find out, try out the -V X commands. -V is for variable bit rate and X stands for the quality from 0-9 I think. 0 being the best and 9 the worst. And lossless encoding is mathematically equivalent to the wav/aiff form so it is natural that you can't hear a difference.
  4. looks like a bootleg to me. in other words, pirated. Please check if beatles did release this album in long box form. US$20 is far too much also.
  5. Mackie, for the pads that you washed, do they have the appearance of the one on the right side of the picture?
  6. Haha yes that is what I experienced too. But sometimes tradeoffs have to be made between cleanliness and the looks. The instructions that came with my new pads recommends wiping them with a damp cloth so that is what i recommend everyone to do. BTW, washing the pads may have flattened them a bit resulting in a darker sound.

    HF-1

If anyone wants to share shipping, PM me or Absolute0.
  9. I have a DAC and most of the time it is being fed by digital out from a Revolution 7.1 soundcard. As with other audio equipments, digital outputs/transports differ from one another. Jitter is the main cause here which are variations in timing of the signal due to either poor clocks or poor grounding (something like that). Whether you can tell differences in jitter with different transports is another matter as DACs are more of a factor here. 10. US$200 plus shipping? So far 3 people are ordering now. I haven't ask Todd about the shipping costs for more than 2 HF1.
  11. Basically there are 3 models of DT880 so far. According to Mackie, the first DT880 is from 1980s. At around 2002, Beyerdynamic came out with the newer model which is shown at the picture above. The latest one, releasing in a few months time, comes with with a redesign of cosmetics though I'm not sure about the drivers...
  12. Yeap I emailed Todd about this and he said no problem. 1 HF1 - US$15 2 HF1 - US$20 3 HF1 - US$?? I haven't ask him about the cost for 2 and above since at that point of time there were only interest in 2 pairs. Let's see the response before emailing him.
  13. No one wants to share on shipping?
  14. Does the old model of DT880 sound the same as the newer one?
  15. Well, just countercheck with a normal pair of speakers or headphones using your favourite CD. If it sounds weird, most probably it is in the wrong direction. Maybe the leaflet you have is of an older batch which hasn't run out when they introduced the new batch of e2c. Just enjoy the music and don't let such minor contradictions disrupt it.
  16. No one getting? I'm ordering one.
  17. 1 X Denon DCD 835 cdplayer for sale. I still have the original unfilled warranty card. The lens was actually changed quite sometime ago and after that I hardly turned it on as I was using my computer setup. The reason why I can change the lens without warranty card is because I know the shop owner. In good condition except for some scratches on the top cover. Comes with remote control and can read gold and blue CDRs. Was 5 stars in What Hifi a few years back. Here are some reviews. http://www.hifichoice.co.uk/archive/perl/184_printreview.htm http://www.hifichoice.co.uk/review_read.asp?ID=1398 My price is SOLD.
  18. Well the drivers were changed because there is some slight distortion when playing extremely low bass like 35-45hz. Yea and the pads were worth $30 not drivers and pads.
  19. I have a DT880 for sale. Recently both drivers were changed and I bought new pair of pads too. Sound is now perfect and drivers most prob are not burned in yet. Very good condition all around except for some scratches on the cups but nothing major. Comes with everything like the metal case, extension cord, 1/4" adaptor and even the paper for the case. Looking for SOLD. Remember, new drivers and pads (at least $30) so it is almost new!
  20. Super computer for making potato chips. http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9584_22-965191.html Your brain needs to have the processing power of a super computer before you can understand how to make one!
  21. Actually that is what I did. I run it from the preamp output to another female RCA and turned the volume up. I found that the preamp output is higher than the normal line level. Maybe it is due to the very high gain of my amp.
  22. ahhh but i was mentioning about interconnects.
