Absolute0 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2004 The 7506's are said to be pretty bright sounding, but with reasonably good bass. Not my cup of tea.

Gahman 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2004 (edited) I highly recommend the 280 pro!!! Plus, take back what u said abt the 212 pro!!! They look pretty good, AND I OWN A PAIR!!!! Anyway, when buying go to a place where u can test them out first. I recommend going to hung bros. Don't buy then regret later. Me, i buy one that sounds warm, and when I put them on, I won't feel like there're blobs in my head. The word I use is Transparent sound. av98m 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2004 (edited) kuku, at this rate you're going to ask questions until your feathers drop off and nothing is ever going to be done, so here's my 2 cents: If you want your new headphones fast: 1. Put your cmoy and portable player in your pocket/bag. 2. Go to Hung Brothers at Sim Lim Square. 3. Ask to try out the different headphones there using your cmoy and portable player. 4. If you find something you like, buy it. 5. If you want to consider other options, go down to Music by Design at the Adelphi. 6. Ask to audition the Grados using your cmoy and portable player. 7. If the Grados don't suit you, go back to Hung Brothers and buy what you were happy with there. If you're willing to be patient: 1. Go to the sgh meet. 2. Try out all the headphones there with your cmoy and portable 3. Then go buy whatever you liked at the meet. Do some of your own research and legwork. Don't be lazy and expect everything to be handed to you on a silver plate. Nobody will know for sure if you'll like the sound of any particular headphone. Sipher 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2004 (edited) IMO, the best headphone you can buy for $300 is DT150 but it may not interest you since you go for looks edit: sorry, wrong recommendation. dont think the cmoy will do justice to DT150. hehe i prefer my Beyer for comfort! Sipher 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2004 actually a good sounding + cheap headphone to go with cmoy is the Koss ksc-35/55/50. i'm using this combo for my portable and PC. but it's a open headphone so...
Tenson 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2004 OT: Brilliant idea Tenson! But I'd prefer if they can engineer a human memory card slot which we can play directly into us thus negating the need for any of this malarky! That sounds painful though Anyway, do check out the AKG 'phones! I have never heard a pair of AKG's sound bad! Always clear and detailed!
Mackie 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2004 (edited) Given your budget, amp and surrounding technical issues, I'd recommend Beyer DT250 of 80-ohm impedance (ie. after discounts). The same model is available at 250-ohm and generally sounds better but the lower load is more suitable for your cmoy. New Beyer models are out ie, DT460/660/860 and I hope to showcast all of them during the meet. However, I've no idea on their pricings.
