If your source is a soundcard, connecting a DAC to it will give you almost identical result. Best is if you could get a CDP.
-
Actually a good soldering iron will increase the performance of soldering SMD components. Once you solder >1000 SMD components, your skill will improve dramatically.

Go to classified and search Cmoy...

0404 more bass. And err... I let the others fill in.
-
You can start small first with headphone amp. Speaker amp requires more knowledge and patience. I like to join the bandwagon of getting the T-amp but I got lot's of class D amp lying around. Next time bah.
-
Class T amp are basically improved version of class D amp. With an advantages of higher efficiency than class D. BUT, you are recommend to use speaker with 4 and 8 ohm. Others will cause a dip or rise at the high frequency.

X-fi have special function to upmix stereo source to 5.1 channel. That is why playing movie X-fi is more prefered. 0404 is not just any normal soundcard. The sound quality is much better than X-fi, including it's built too.

I didn't like it either. Sounds funny.

No true. I use it for playback quite often.
-
Should be ok. Just make sure the transformer is far away from your amp.
-
My card also have crackling issue. Even with latest driver: http://www.emu.com/ You can try to change the setting to 48kHz RMAA, that should reduce the crackling but you can't control master volume.
-
If you follow the directions carefully, you shouldn't have any problem.

That cap is mainly use as a battery source for MCU or other very low power devices. Since it uses a DC-DC booster, a lousy design will add noise into your portable amp.
-
It uses a capacitor as a supply source, that's all.

Hihi, hope you still remember me...

Ha, japanese. In translation: Happy Birthday Mr. Youtiao. Anyway, 祝您生日快乐!!!

Agree on the 9V battery as source. It is by far the most simple in terms of charging, case up and availability.
-
Just leave and ask them not to bug you. That's what I said that time.

Grats!!!

Reducing R4 and R8 would increase the low frequency roll-off. Currently if C1 = C2 = 1uF and R4 = R8 = 10kohm, the -3dB roll-off is 16Hz. If you don't change the cap and reduce the resistor to 1kohm, roll-off will be 160Hz. That should take care most of the bass element.

what is the audio output chip in Creative Zen?

You should not have to make any modification to drive these mini speaker. Hmmm. Mouser has stop stocking up the 9mm alps. Let me see what I can do.
