  1. I will be going down Sony Qualia Ginza to order the Qualia EXQ1 inear phones. Called up Sony this afternoon and was told it will be ready by Early August or mid July. Kindly note that Qualia are hand made to order and not available outside japan. =] Price is approximately 21,000yen(SGD$322.582 SGD calculated with XE.net as of today). I am not sure about tax but Japanese is 5%, which is about SGD$15.00. Anyone interested to own a piece of quality engineering, let me know. I'll be placing my order sometime next weekend. Meanwhile, a link to some nice pics of the Qualia EXQ1. http://mp3.zol.com.cn/2005/0330/160093.shtml Best rgds, *edited for added pics
  2. From what I read, the unique selling point is probably only the digital radio. It sure does reminds me of the movie "Existence"'s analogue control pad. LOL. Optical out is cool though. Hope to find it ard tokyo...
  3. There are people playing with the idea of Macs and Jukeboxes with third party softwares but certainly not for Creative Zen Micros. I was simply astounded when he said that. I guess at the festive sales, they hire part time in bulks. LOL.
  4. to be frank, product training there is abit lacking.. That is for sure. I was told by a creative staff at the micro zen counter that the micro zen player is compatible with Mac. I asked TWICE and he said "yes".
  5. augustine<<<Still you got it cheaper....LOL.
  6. Wow, I see. But how did you manage to find out that those creative buds are OEMs for sharp MD33? I did listened to the MD33s before I did the group buy. Certainly must say that they are a big Bang for your bucks. As for microphonics on the MD33s, I didn't really notice. Not so much as the ETYS though. But then extended cables doesn't mean microphonics right?
  7. why get a creative earphone?? Are they any good in the first place? btw, if you guys noticed, a bunch of earphones became sooo alike. Panasonic, sharps, sonys and now creative...
  8. Welcome to the "audiphile" world! Whether you like it or not! Buying such items automatically qualifies you as one. LOL. anyway, anything with good recording makes a good listen with your ETYs. I'm sure there's tons from the guys here. How about, Shpongle's Dorset perception or Lisa Ekdahl's Heaven, Earth And Beyond Album for a start? Emiliana Torrini is pretty good for the vocals and acoustic strings. They somewhat remind of me Bjork but a "cleaner" version. LOL. Have fun!
  9. Is that velour materials that I see in the stock tips??? This is so interesting. btw, I couldn't spell "velour" from the Beyer Pads so I went over to the Beyer Website and I came across their NEW releases, namely DT 860 Premium, DT 660 Premium and DT 440 Premium! http://www.beyerdynamic.co.uk/beyer%20pages/hifi.html Interesting interesting... so, what is the spelling....LOL
  10. Sadly yes. It really doesn't matter if they are expensive or cheap. I can't explain this in exact science. Perhaps someone can provide an accurate description? =] Some people still can get car sick in a jaguar or bently. Taking buses solves it for me. LOL.
  11. Oh, that you are soooo wrong. When I first got my Shure E5c, it gave me motion sickness. No joke!! And too much Etys can give me fatigue cos of the highs. TOtally nothing to do with costs.
  12. Females with high vocals! Usually the sibilance occurs with females because of their higher pitch as compared to male vocals. Too much cymbals also tend to make me sick!
  13. well, from my point of view, it doesn't reduce sibilance at all. Sibilance is part of the Etys and will always be there. It can become warmer or anything else, but usually the sibilance is always there. You just have to be picky with what kind of music you listen to. For a start, I never go Joss Stone with Etys. My ears hurt.
  14. Sorry to hear about the "problems". Perhaps you can post your impression after a few days after burning in? I tried the Sharps at the loca store and was surprised at it's performance. Even hooked it up to the supermacro. Didn't really noticed the "metallic" sound everyone was talking about. Perhaps need some burning in? btw, the Koss Plugs's foamies look good to go into the sharps. Perhaps you can try it out? rgds,
  15. Slyvester?? Gosh, that is a thinking point. Not a tipping point I hope!
  16. Rocks. Nice price but I don't think we can get it any cheaper than this $199 price eh?
  17. hi, i couldn't find the link on headroom. can you provide some links? I need shipping to japan...So it's no to group buys then....=[

    Mac

Oh sorry, my mistake. I thot it was a G5 not an imac. That should be pretty neat and movable. =]
  19. Gosh~ are minidiscs player that expensive??

    Mac

Love to get my hands on those G5s. But they are a little noisy and hard to move around.
  21. Can it be condensation of your circuitboards? I know that if you do lotsa airconditioning in your room, such things happen. Other than that I am lost.
  22. This amp is a little overpriced for it's sonic ability. Other than that, it looks nicer as compared to other DIY amps and has a neat carrying pouch. Heard it twice but no deep impressions.
  23. I guess it's the way you write the email. You gotta sound like you are a potential buyer for such sleeves in the future. Or at least mention that you are doing a review for Head-Fi forums? I think the sentence "free samples" don't really sound good. How about "I'll appreciate if you can provide me with the XXX sleeves for evaluations before I order stock them up"? LOL
  24. For USD$158 you can get the SE-150-PCI, a souped-up version of the onkyo. I was tempted to get it but am deciding between the Terratec EWX2496 of this. Anyway the SE-90PCI retails for SGD$150 here in japan. I just think audiocubes is way expensive. Go read up Head-Fi for reivews. Not many ppl have them cos the drivers are in japanese. But from looking at the boards, this is one card that is intriguing audiophiles. If you are not freakish about japanese driver, go for it. From an onbaord sound to a dedicated 2-channel pro card, the EMU is a good start. Almost the same price as the SE-90PCI but a whole lot more support in english. Lastly, what's your music taste like. Different cards do give very different signatures. best rgds,
  25. Just one side changed? Boy, that is sure weird. If I get mine broken on one side(touch wood) I'm breaking them both. Jesus.
