some months ago when i went over to squalle's place to try his UM2, they sounded that way to me. just sounded wrong, and i don't think it was the fit, because i put it on 3 times (due to a few unfortunate phone calls), and they sounded the same. when i went down to stereo to try, they STILL sounded wrong to me, even with all the different tips i tried. (my little brother likes the UM2 though. unfortunately he's only primary 6 and cannot begin to afford such an expensive hobby) in the end, i took the leap and got a pair of ety er4, and what i can say is that, i have no complaints and no regrets SOOO.., the favourite phones around might not be to your liking, and please try to audition expensive phones before you buy them, esp. if you cannot return them. edit: and recently i've noticed several members on the forums who like to pressure other members into buying phones, i hope this practice doesnt continue high end equipment cost a pretty penny, and the purchase decision should be considered carefully, don't rush into them and regret

how much you expecting for the mj board ?

if i were you i'd really be more worried about frying the card than frying the speakers 'cause as squalle mentioned, dc offset can be tested for with a multimeter
-
don't fry your card. good luck

i'm fine with echoloft, not with hwz. but of course if sgheadphones could remain standalone, it'd be best
-
hwz's amount of advertisement sucks. i'll never agree to handing sgheadphones over to hwz. but then again, who am i to comment? i'm just another forumer like everyone else.

IF a change of web host is required, I think I'll be able to help. I know of someone who's in the industry, maybe he'd be willing to to offer cheaper prices.

i think this thread should be moved out of classifieds

http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showpost.ph...04&postcount=39 edit: nevermind, some other posts further on say that they might not be the same. i have a pair of md33s though, and i dont mind bringing them along for comparison if it fits into my (rather packed) timetable

i think paralleling caps or putting caps in the signal path is a much greater evil than having dual conductors.
-
its still shielded , as the shield is tied to ground. just that the RF noise might "pollute" the ground further down the chain as some people claim

Whats a balanced mini to mini cable?
