toroidal transformer i got no idea how to get it in Singapore. For my PPA mine is a DC adaptor which i pass a tread through it...

But den Um1 shouldnt be used with amp when coupled with U3. The sensitivity of UM1 is enough to be powered loud enough. Unless your using a Ipod line out where a amp is really needed

I have this issue with my PPA and ms-1... But it is the gain of amp that caused the problem caused my PPA is spec for low Z headphones. By itself, U3 produced 60mw. of power, but the amp may not be able to produce that type of power since your is portable. So the issue is the amp.

Alessandro Ms-1 is Alessandro entry level headset. Grado and Alessandro look the same but I prefer MS-1 for the neutral sound. Ms-1 is like a SR80 SR125 equal.

Um1 is quite durable if i am correct....

You need to have a isolated output. If i remember PPA use TLE to as a voltage splitter thus creating a virtual ground. The earth ground is different from the virtual ground.
