  1. hmm. hopefully it doesnt sound too much LIKE the em7..
  2. wait a minute.. just realised that ALL the prices on the site are 'very good'..
  3. quote from the akg501 info page: "price: very good"
  4. iirc alt preset standard cuts off freqs at 16000hz. alt preset extreme, 19500 alt preset insane (cbr 320) 20500. try using this program called winLAME. it's a GUI for lame that has a TON of customisable features. you can even use it to make a 22500hz cutoff mp3, which is theoretically (freq response wise), same as cd spec (2x22500 = 41000) but you must remember whatever it is, mp3 is a lossy codec. dont expect things to sound exactly the same as on cd. and remember, making a 20500hz cutoff mp3 is useless if the freq resp of your PLAYER is only, say 20000hz max.. like all iriver players are.
  5. wait, check the denon dcm-31 first before doing anything. i'm very sorry i have no linkages or no pricing info but iirc i saw it selling for sg500 once at sls ground floor.
  6. the px200 has NO individual serial no so i just filled in the model number..
  7. scary eh? how opinions can incite such emotions. i have a TON of things to say here, but for the sake of the peace, i'll move on.
  8. if it's lamb leather, then there should be no problem for hindu users.
  9. bulkie, downloading with the intention of sampling and downloading with the intention of keeping for personal enjoyment permanently is very different. you cannot liken huma_dragonbane's acts to yours. although both are wrong in the eyes of the law, one possess a mitigating factor, whilst the other does not. for example, if i were to accidentally hit someone with a car and kill him, that would be manslaughter. if i were to plan and carry out a murder i would be charged with murder. both involve the same act - killing someone - but both have vastly different consequences in the eyes of the law. trying to distract people from the entire issue by asking them whether they've-ever-broken-the-law-before-and-if-they-did-what-right-do-they-have-to-judge-you is frankly, quite a poor way of presenting your argument. what judge has not committed some offence in his life, no matter how minor, no matter whether discovered or not? yet does the judge pass sentence on others who have like him, broken the law. yes he does. however, i do NOT appreciate what the music industry has become. paying mariah carey $10million so that she would TERMINATE her contract with sony music is not what i call acting in consumer's interests. neither is forwarding michael jackson $35million for an album that bombed and made a loss. also, i believe that i've read somewhere that musicians make 5cents per cd sold. most of their income is derived from live gigs and advertising tie-ups. anyway, this being an audiophile website, i think this entire music piracy argument is below us - we do not listen to lossy formats, thank you very much. edit: corrected a spelling mistake
  10. hindu's cant use it right?
  11. i voted yes. so what if you can get a new discman - they wont sound as good! that aside, owning a vintage pdcp is like owning a vintage car, sure you may have difficulties reasoning it out why its a good thing to own one, but you sure can feel good owning one.
  12. i own the e2 and it is simply fantastic. it's a middle of the road solution - not as good as the er4p, much better than the ex71. please order from overseas. you can get it from earplugstore.com in 3 business days for $20 cheaper than buying in sing. in addition, because you bought from a US based store, you are covered by the full 2 year shure warranty. the singapore retailer refused to give me any definite answer when i asked him abt warranty.
  13. i own the e2. he owns the e2c. lekguan, we have compared extensively and he is correct in stating those differences. whatever others say those ARE differences.
  14. if i'm not enlisted by then, i should be able to make it.
  15. arcos, it must be positioning. the px200's bass should almost overwhelm.
  16. no it is not. the isolation is minimal, but more than a earbud or open headphone.
  17. adhoc

    Which earbud

you can try some audio technica EARBUDS. iirc i saw them selling at tower records and best denki before. hung bros i'm sure have. i'm sorry i cant advise you on any particular models because i have no experience with them.
  18. here's a warning to all: my gf's bro's platoon mate got FINED $10000 for sharing music. moral of the story: dont share music!
  19. the e2 is identical to the e2c.
  20. as title, need a show of hands on people willing or considering on selling their akg501s in the future. would be helpful if you posted a tentative price. naturally, this price is not binding. thank you.
  21. yes PLEASE remember to clean your ears THOROUGHLY. and a head-on with the e1 is not a bad idea. good to see whether you all feel the e1 is worth USD$70 more.
  22. IF i get the amp by then, no problem lekguan. i would be happy to let you share my shipping.
  23. alot of people do. it is not only foolish but dangerous to assume that your unique (and not neccessarily 'correct') opinion overrides everyone else's.
  24. OT question: what model digital piano do you have? how much did it cost?
