i think it's ok to unplug fron the player after a listening session, as long as you don't do it like how you pluck bananas. in fact if the plug is kept on, it causes more stress on the jack when your rig is transported around. the problematic phone jack is the infamous problem of zen micro. i myself had my zen micro replaced twice for the same problem. gotten rid of it since.

after some auditioning, i'm quite attracted by the alessandro ms1 which combines bass with the detailing and airiness of the stock grados. however before i make any decision, can i enquire on the alternatives in the same price range? got to hear of audio technica a500/ad500, how do these compare to ms1?

my experience was more drastic. my humble ep630 was enough to isolate my hearing from the "beep beep beep beep doors closing" signal, while i went up the escalator to the platform. was half a metre away from the door when it started to close; too late for me to back off. i hastened myself but my legs still got caught by the shutting panels. did manage to get into the train, but not without a nasty trip. didn't fall flat, but it must had been a din still, and surely people were mocking at me (i couldn't hear a damn thing of course). i simply scuffled to the other cabin to save myself from the blushes. lesson learnt: when there's no traffic at the door anymore, it means the doors will be closing anytime. i should have known better.

well i think this entire bass issue arised from a misunderstanding. the guilty guy was flattering the bass-shy ck5, not the bass-rich ep630. anyway i confess to being inclined to bass hehez, cos i listen to rock music more. but i guess i at least appreciate rocky tight bass and not boomy bass which just clouds the entire music.

yes Theatre Of Dreams = Old Trafford = My-Love-With-Or-Without-Trophy haha metal-netted. i created this term myself, dunno what's the proper term. it's a net around the cable for protection, but also makes the cable stiffer. apparently it's stretched like a spring to cover the cable length, cos Aron suggested customising one for me with less tension on the net so that the cable can be more flexible for my set-up (my source and amp are same size which makes the IC plug-ins very near to each other. stiff IC cable will have trouble bending.) may i ask what are the general differences among flange, flex, and foam sleeves/eartips? heez i know i should be flamed for not tracking back the threads, but just a general idea?
