true if you have a soldering iron, buy a female 1/4" jack, add some wire inbetween, and terminate to 1/8".
-
weird, cat5 cable here (at dollar stores) is stranded. either way, solid/stranded, both work as interconnect
-
cat5 works stranded copper after all...
-
the above is 22awg solid silver (99.99%) insulated w/ teflon (clear) i prefer silk or cotton insulation over teflon thoughl
-
cool here's a silver dock i made aw hile back:
-
try percyaudio.com although i haven't ordered from them before, i heard 'good' thigns over at head-fi.
-
to fill the hole use several layers of heat shrink to 'fill it out' use 20-24awg wire and you should be fine... what plugs are you using? i recommend hot glueing the connector down too so the pins are 'stablized', otherwise it'll get shorted real fast. post pix.

itouch works with Ipod LOD (same pin out)~ just that the iphone is problematic (i think?)
-
does the HD590 leak sound (like 595?) if so...portable solution might not be good. unless you want the entire bus listening to your tunes too
-
what about the little tube II+? what do you all think about that amp? it has a warm sound and the price is good darkvoice probably blows it out of the water thoughn? I haven't tried both (little tube II is coming in though!) Little tube II can be had for around $100USD i think (used) cheers

^ agreed. maybe your DT phones have a problem w/ the 1/4" connector You could always reterminate the 1/4 to 3.5mm If the adapater your using is the same one i have for my hd595, i'd advise against using it too much b/c there is no extra wire for the adapter which puts a lot of strain on your jack
-
dont you find the ep630s a bit muddy? similar to sony ex71 sound?
-
hey no problem you probably found/know this already but here is the pinout for the ipod dock: http://pinouts.ru/PortableDevices/ipod_pinout.shtml
-
cool beans~ post pictures when finished so we can all enjoy if you need help (verbally), I can assist you for making ipod dock since i have made a few before. i would suggest removing all the pins except 2,3,4 (ground, right, left) to minimize any interference and makes it a lot easier to work with... you could leave pin 1 too if you want to ground/bridge to pin 2 (but i never do) good luck!

to improve USB sound from your computer try this: http://www.ledshoppe.com/Product/com/CA4017.htm i read many good things about it on another forum. i think the $8 is a bit high though, it can be had for $4~ or less ('mega sale' price)? or they might have raised the price. your sr60 will not need amping to 'sing', already sounds good through headphone jack
-
CD much cheaper in TW i believe, but i question the quality of recording... as for for mp3, not sure!
-
these forums always have group buy! good to see people are trust worthy enough!!

hey not too difficult to do 1) pop up those 'pleather' pads 2) screw out using philips from both side 3) unsolder 1 side (make sure you remember which is what) 4) solder on new wire 5) repeat #3 for other side 6) add strain relief to the headphones 7) solder to plug of your choice 8) reverse setps 1-2

try sennheiser hd280s or beyerdynamics dt250 or even akg k81dj? how much were they if you dont mind telling?
-
bass is just too thumping on those, i would stay away unless you're a basshead! try the etymotics er6i + foamie combination affordable and decent (~$50-60USD) edit: oops didnt read you like 'head banging music', try the foamies regardless! great isolation. true true unforunately those dont isolate (leak sound in fact!) :
-
hi may i suggest a govibe 5-7?? -used govieb5 can be had fo 35-40USD. similar pricing to pa2v2, but much much better IMO ldm+ has too much noise, but outstanding battery life, but doesn't really add much to the SQ... oh and definately invest in ipod line out dock! the sound is much better through LOD than headphone jack... i would not buy into any specially 'treated' cables though (just adds to costs w/o benefit)...

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=250836 +10 to 15 bucks extra for shipping
-
well you're saving %40 buying overseas
-
hey friend, i suggest you look on head-fi or even eBay many sellers are willing to ship overseas for a few dollars more (at cost~) so you can get a pair of sr80's for ~90US shipped? cheers you must be referring to grado flats: I'm not sure where you can source these (they don't seem to come up often)....
