  1. haha yup... i change to the bowls 2 days after i got the 60s. i don't quite like the comffies... i did wat aron showed above and i like it now. it sounds just nice now...
  2. haha... maybe i'm too sensitive to low notes. MS1 is already boomy for me
  3. hmm basses... i would say MS1 , MS2 or their cousin SR125?... haha... audition them
  4. alot of audiotech fc4 and fc7 around. px100 in abbundance now... but it seem that the sennheiser bug bit alot of students is SP... and well at least i now i'm the only one who owns Gamma LH-365 here... anybody own those here??
  5. i got my SR-60s a week ago or more... i find that the 60s will amplify any signal... the basses may become too much even when listening to classical stuff. i personally am a fan of pipe organs and is is usual to have frequencies of around 40 and below. those can be irritating with some players... one solution is to reduce the bass output from your player... but the thing i like about those SR60s is that i can hear the plucking of the double bass and not just the frequency the bass string produce which is just like real life bass somewhere near you... where u got your 60s from?
  6. here's a later update... finished in 3hrs... it uses 2 AA sized batt... -power supply : 3-12VDC (for 0.25 watts 8ohms per channel) - consumption : 500mA max. @ 9VDC. (using a loudspeaker 8Ω 1Wx2) - output power : 1+1W max. stereo - S/N ratio : 70dB (A weighted) - sensitivity (1kHz/500mW) : 120mVeff i preset the amplification level so the the amp just amplifies that much. the rest is controlled by my player...
  7. i assembled an amp today cost me around $20... yah around there, and not bad for that price... now i dont have to save up for an amp. haha... there is hissing when used with some sources... i guess thats normal...
  8. ok i manage to find a 0.25watts amp... see how it goes...
  9. omg... hahahahaha..... few of my friends saw my hands shake and they wouldn't stop laughing... lucky i my table is real heavy and stable... shutter speed hmm... haha... im jus not the rite person for earphone mods...
  10. hmm... that amp i built may look complicated. it will make noise or give distortions in abundance... its just picky about drivers it drives... i think the power supply isn't that stable. the cap i think is too low... oh well, that i have to change some other time... they are stereo 10W 8 ohms per channel...
  11. where to buy pipe organ CDs??? i'm a pipe organ fan...
  12. how much are those cute tannoys?? nice amp u built there... and here is mine
  13. one little problem though... the shrinks will kinda expand back and that will loosen the joints... maybe i'll add those cable pvc cable ties...
  14. nice nice but do u want to change those nickle plated steel grilles to aluminum or stanless steel ones??? those nickle steels won't stay that shiny for long...
  15. my late dad, (he was a DJ before in the early 80s) gave me his Sansui A-80 amplifier with the old 120watts n 32 ohms floorstanders. connected to a National cassette deck.. that was when i was 10 yrs old... frm there i started my voyage.. i replaced the massive retired 32ohm floorstanders with EKO EC-100F i got from Cash Converters (believed to be factory rejected coz they were brand new but price was way below)... its was only this year i went into headphones... b4, i was full time with speakers... my sansui is a black version
  16. saw these at daiso today... F-clamps + S-hook + shrinks= headphones hanger
  17. earphones aren't dat simple... not just anybody can solder those tiny tranducer posts... i do modify headphones only for wiring but im not the person for earphones... my hands just shake too mush for tiny work...
  18. is there any way to reduce the power output of a 2000mW to a safer output for headphones??
  19. MS1 is kinda in par with the SR80 and their price are also near $160 and $170 respectively... in terms of details, SR80 is more precise in the highs while MS1 has precise lows. maybe coz MS1 comes with comfies and SR80 with bowls when i tried them out...
  20. hmm... then how about WMA lossless??
  21. SR60 are easy to drive... my K618 can drive them and that means ur ipod can do so too... if u don mind adding arnd $20 more to ur $150 budget... get SR80 for $170, they're more detailed on highs.. but SR80 will come with bowls. SR60 will appear to be booming with bass. more than SR80 and that is caused by their cushions. if u want the details of SR80 and bass of SR60, get SR80 with SR60's cushions (the comfies)...
