  1. Thank you Stereo Electronics for taking time to reply & concern. Firstly I 'd mentioned I wasn't ready to look into any purchases. Therefore personally I don't like to test out yet! Thank you again for suggesting to test out! Secondly, I 'm not comparing mine gears against yours as that just wanna point out my views! Usually sales staff of all aspects will try to gather more information before suggesting or start pushing. There again I may be wrong also or maybe I'm old fashioned! Personally I don't enjoy testing after testing when I'm not ready for any purchases as that everyone also need to make a business. Let some others who has higher urge to confirm their purchases test rather than hogging the queue, right? Well, thanks again for the offer. I will definitely drop by again when I'm ready for something as that I 'd patronized your causeway Point branch back in 01 or 02. (your shop was just about to renovate)
  2. Where can I look for Shakti stone or the VPI (similar to shakti) ? Many years back first came across a friend tried the VPI by moving across the power transformer does give some sort of impart increase & decrease in sound as he moves!
  3. Sure to hear some feedback from you once you gotta your DAC & amp? What do you have in mind of which DAC & Amp BTW? Will you be looking into those full size DACs & Amps or just one of those combi?
  4. What about Edirol, M-Audio, Roland, etc faired to this mbox@? Isn't it they are of different worlds as versus those general / consumer DAC/Amp combos that are widely sold in those acclaimed shops?
  5. Maybe the Japanese sound engineers live in small houses that's why the sound on home stereo rather falt! (just joking) Different studios master differently, like Telarc labels their sound mastering rather soft , whereas EMI classical is higher as compared! TBM / XRCD labels mastered very well as versus this CD JVC Jazz festival ( a night of Checky Jazz )
  6. Totally agree that Digital Life 's reviews on especially headphones / earphones are of some discount! Can't just take their words as that what epicality mentioned. There was once back in 2008 when they reviewed one model of the Sennheiser HD2xx headphone, it was utterly rubiish (my personal 2 cents view) " in playing games from the PC is very good but sounded weak on full classical musics! " Whatever they said about each an every product, just read & accept 10% max into account!
  7. Happen to drop by their new branch at Plaza Sing. Very conceptual design on the retail front, very upmarket on the product range! The only thing which I don't feel comfortable is the staffs rather too pushy (I not ready to buy anything yet, I don't usually try them) just my personal thinking! Was checking on the price for the Maverick D1, there goes the cassette tape playback from one of the staff which personally don't like that as a sales person should observe the customer's age group, conversation, etc & listen thoroughly before putting across your stories/opinions. It's good that the staffs are very familiar with the products, but somehow just let the customer decide & complete their sentence. Quoting the dialog in whcih I'd with this particular staff (never ask his name); "How much are your selling the Maverick D1?" (myself) "The Maverick D1 is selling $ 319.00 but no stock now, have to reserve!" staff "Wow, so hot cake!" myself "What cans are you using?" staff "I 'd the HD-600 for around 10 yrs" myself "This D1 is very good, has got tube & many inputs, can be used as DAC / Pre-Amp too" staff "I've got my Parasound DAC / Pre-Amp already more than 10 yrs " myself "I've also got the X-Cans more than 6 yrs" myself Service is good but selling the idea just have to ask further details from the customer before you act upon your salesman talk. Normally guys will also search here & there for more information before you actually make your audition & purchases, right?
  8. Bored! Not really as time goes by, different things happen & thus changes your requirement! Headphone listening had been my usual since cassette walkman days! During those days, having a cassette player is like having aniPod these days! During those days, things are relatively expensive, so headphones can only afford budget types! But currently, have not been upgrading substantially, mainly just increasing the CD library. Sometimes when you're bored with portable, just switch over to your home system! When you're bored with the home set, just watch some movies or simply leave them aside till you're in the right frame of mind to make a come back. (that's wat I usually does) If after all these still bored, go for some holidays, or concerts or even finding friend for gathering! If headphones/IEm/Music system so easily make people get bored, there must be some problem with those artist, recording studios, manufacturers, etc. Yes, I 've to agreed that so far in these few forums always happen to see those same few items eg, HD-650, UE TF10, Weststone UM3x, iBasso, Go-Vibe, etc... Can't be help as that all these items are currently the word of mouth things that had been spreading around in these forums. Unlike in the early days of internet, not so much of influence spreaded around & generally most owners of headphile, audiophile stuffs are mainly middle-age & above. Time has changed whereby now I would say is the internet age where spending power of these group of people are greater! Thus getting bored with this or that also tends to be greater as there are so many other attractions & distractions going around! IMO, I still believe that if you like your interest (be which audio or computer or whatever) you will still pursue after the rounds of boredom! Just like chasing after the latest gaming graphics card, sound cards, etc after a while you 'll also be bored, right?
  9. Apart from Alpha Audio, the other shop name is City Electronics.
  10. That is the Electrostatic model from Sennheiser right? That had been discontinued around 2002 right? Way to go!
  11. The closes look alike from my HD-600 is the HD-580, is that the right model or even older than what I can remember? Looks like you're more of a vinyl player/collector I guess, is that right? Appreciate the sound of vinyl but can't bring myself into it due to dust conditions/environment !
  12. Thanks for the compliment! Nah, the main setup is already more than 10 yrs ago. Whereas the LD Mk-ll (OEM) & those portable setups were started seriously back in 2008! What about yours?
  13. Just wondering has any of you guys had came across the Apple acclaimed Dual Drivers IEM? How does it sound like? Could it be OEM from any of those famous manufacturers? (just guessing)
  14. Thanks for the concern, blackmouth0! It's just for the photo shoot purpose only!
  15. My home setup with my 10 yrs old Sennheiser HD-600!
  16. If you have a integrsated amplifier along with it, just connect the cassette tape deck onto the tape loop, radio tuner normally by default people will connect to the tuner input!
  17. It might require another tuning mic to calibrate your system (I might be wrong, please correct accordingly) Some sort of EQ to adjust suitable settings for your room accoustics!
  18. This 's my portable setup!
  19. This is my humble home rig setup!
  20. Personally used a PSP foam case to store my USB Charger / USB sync cable for iPod RSA Tomahawk, spare set of AAA batteries, spare mini - mini cables, UE SuperFi 4vi inside small pouch, thus leaving the iPod outside dressed in leather jacket. Will be changing into slightly bigger case to house all the stuffs!
  21. Have you tried places like Shaw Towers Jade Gift Shop, along Jalan bukit merah blk 2 I think just behind the bus stop with the Panasonic shade, Woodlans Domestic @ clmenti (near ginza) or just have to walk a lot!
