  1. Thanks! That's still pretty much out of reach at the moment.
  2. 3 cheers for ablaze and yotiao!
  3. Is it convenient to post the price at AA?
  4. I second naz's suggestion. I am willing to be part of the team as well.
  5. Ablaze, it's sad to hear this news, but I am sure it is a painful decision for you as well. I wish I knew more about databases and programming to be of help. Whatever the case, thank you so much for providing us with such an invaluable resource and platform for exchange, and all the best with your job in saving lives!

  10. Meier audio isn't exactly cheap (unless you buy their amps), neither is Headroom nor Todd. But they do have some nice prices from time to time, like on the AKG K701's. The latter two also do price matching, if that helps. The best thing to do would be to check out a few merchants to compare prices. If you can get it for cheaper locally, by all means!
  11. Try the head-fi sponsors - you can find links at the top of the head-fi forums page.
  12. Yes, I agree largely with Mackie. I was just debating the point that edwinywh made that the cost of air shipment is the main reason for the higher prices. Also, considering the substantial difference in price, I wouldn't be surprised if most people decide to purchase the cans online instead of from our local dealers.
  13. They are also shipped via air when you buy them from online merchants overseas...
  14. I must say the prices are indeed a fair bit more expensive than what we can get them for online (shipped over from the States). I suspect a high markup by the distributor could have contributed to the price disparity as well.
  15. Guess I'm in time then. Happy birthday!
  16. Happy Chinese New Year!! And may all the singles get lots of ang pow. As for the married, have fun giving out those red packets!
  17. Actually I prefer that configuration - it's less clunky and is aesthetically more pleasing than having all the jacks on one end. Another reason could be that there were space constraints when Larry was designing the amp.
  18. The etys are one of the most clinical (or flat) phones I have heard. I believe shure's are more for you if you want something more "lively". Amping doesn't help a lot with IEMs, from past experience. At least not in changing something flat to something lively.
  19. Sounds like a great idea. I have been dying to go to Akihabara. Cheap air tickets would really come in handy.
  20. I was at HMV yesterday, and only saw the HK pressing at the ground floor display/audition area. Probably have to ransack the place to find the Japanese pressing. Anyhow, I believe ignorance is bliss (Japanese pressings cost a lot more!), and I can live with the HK pressing, which sounds pretty good IMHO.
  21. Happy Birthday, Rameish! Many happy returns.
  22. There are still the Sensas and UE-10? Anw I must agree that the etys are godsend for commuting. Now I can't live without the isolation. And shouldn't it be "lose" your hearing, instead of "loose"?
