aaron-xp 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 Looking for a Shure E2. Saw it online for about USD90. Wonder where it is sold in Singapore. Thanks.
Absolute0 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 (edited) It's sold at many of the stores at SLS, as well as at Stereo Electronics at Causeway Point, Woodlands. A look at the stickied prices check in this forum would yield more options. Edited April 16, 2006 by Absolute0
Stereo_Electronics 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 You have apple stores and Anything audio at parklane shopping centre too, except most ( I think ) including me can't offer that USD90 deal, unless you purchase it online.
aaron-xp 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 Thanks though. What would be the price range then?
afbug 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 Its about $160-$180. $160 a bit hard to find. Pay a bit more and get the UM1 from Stereo. Worth it. http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=4607 $189 for UM1 is quite reasonable and still got discounts.
Stereo_Electronics 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 (edited) Thanks for the free advertisement. LOL at afbug Anyway, I sell the E2G (black) for $179 inclusive of GST. Edited April 16, 2006 by Stereo_Electronics
aaron-xp 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 What's the difference between UM1 and E2? Seems to me that they are rather similar.

Stereo_Electronics 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 IMHO the Shure E2G/C is generally darker sounding, making average pop and rock sound rather good on them, the UM1 in compared to E2G/C is much more balance. But still depends on your personal taste and your mp3 player, I have the CK7 and UM1 to audition if you're interested.
afbug 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 Difference is the drivers used. E2 uses dynamic drivers while the UM1 has amature drivers. UM1 will be clearer sounding while retaining the bass impact.
aaron-xp 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 One rather dumb question. I am wondering if the sound isolation is the same (or about the same), for both models.
aaron-xp 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 It also seems that the UM1 is not as popular as the E2. Cannot find many proper reviews on the net, as compared to the E2. Just thinking aloud though.
afbug 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 UM1's isolation will be the same or better. They can take a wide array of tips. This model is quite new and Westone's marketing no good i guess. The old UM1 very ugly but i likes. Actually, Stereo should sell sample ear tip packs if the Westones are popular in SG.
aaron-xp 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 Do the Westones come with the sponge tips (like in the E2)?
afbug 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 They come with 4 pairs of sponge tips.
