Now the pricings:

1. supermini IV cost around US$180 excluding shipping.

2. Porta Corda MKIII: US$200 including shipping if I am not wrong

3. Total Airhead: US$149 but they ship internationally only via FedEx so expecting the shipping charges to be high.

 

Something best bang for the buck may not suit your taste, take this into consideration as well.

What I meant was that I want the best in 'default' configuration that I can get in under US$250.

And since this is going to be my very first amp, so I really have no idea what to expect out of it.

I'm thinking about getting the XIN Supermini IV instead, the default version. Is it a good enough choice with E3Cs?

Well, I believe so, especially since XIN has many glowing reviews, even when compared with Headroom

There is a pre2006 airhead sold by [Top-Gun] in the forums with the Cardas HP-I interconnect. May want to have a look at it, given its rather good price, though you may want the latest version...

Sigh, the one big problem is with shipping, especially when living in Singapore, where there are no direct or 3rd party dealers, this jacks up the total price a lot.
