Mackie 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 (edited) All righty, will work on the article sometime this week. However, omit DT48 as it is not functional as an audiophile nor music making cans. It's meant to be a speech monitor as confirmed after the second hearing. Court is adjourned. Sneak preview: Closed cans auditioned:- Beyer DT831, DT150 and DT250 System used:- MF A3CD + Tara Labs RSC Air 3 interconnects + MAS Power master power cord > AudioValve RKV MKII + Belden 83803 power cord with Hubbel and Shurter IEC terminations. N@Z 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 Shame about the DT48, what was lacking?
Mackie 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 (edited) Let's put it this way. It's great on speech and piano. Anything beyond lower-upper mid range is left wanting. Edited October 28, 2003 by Mackie
Northern Oak 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 After hearing the all the Beyer cans that Mackie has/had since Day 1, I would place the DT150 as my fav. It's really THAT good!
N@Z 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 Woo Hoo! I'm glad I persisted then! Can't wait.
Sipher 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 After hearing the all the Beyer cans that Mackie has/had since Day 1, I would place the DT150 as my fav. It's really THAT good! how good was it compared to dt880?
Northern Oak 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 (edited) IMHO, you can take DT880 as a reference and the DT150 just pushes everything a few steps further. The midrange is particularly excellent. I don't think I can describe well the sounds that I've heard from the DT150 so I guess you can wait for Mackie's review. Mackie, you've made my day! Mackie 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 (edited) DT150 is that good. It shall be my reference cans hereon and tasked with the job to assess all incoming ancillaries/accessories for my speakers and headphone rigs. My text are actually ready to be published but I'm sure all would like to have some pro pictures included with the review on these pro cans. I seldom get excited like a child over cans but DT150 has injected me with the impetus to be one. Please bear with me on the delay as I'm kinda tied up this week.
