Edit: Discussion on Shure and Etymotic earbuds

Recommended Posts

the shure e2 is apparently better than the er6. and it's cheaper by alot too.

and ONLY IF you buy from a US retailer will you get shure's full 2 year warranty and $55 flat replacement fee after the warranty fruns out. i recommend you buy from www.earplugstore.com. excellent service.

and guys, GET YOUR SHURES FROM THE STATES. it's cheaper to buy AND SHIP from the earplugstore.com. $180 ONLY. and they ARE SURE about the warranty, not wishy washy evading the question when i ask like local retailers are. but you MUST REMEMBER TO ASK THEM TO INCLUDE A RECEIPT STATING CLEARLY THAT IT WAS BOUGHT IN THE STATES!

do note that the $180 i quoted was for international 3-5 day shipping + the e2 itself.

reviews? sorry no $$ to buy.

I'd rather spend money to upgrade my cables and the sound card of my notebook which connects my Altec Lansing 621. I prefer better soundstage, and nothing on my ears. Very tiring even when using EX70. Something on your ear is bad for long listening. IMO.

went to the shure website

the e2c looks quite cool, with its transparent look

plus its curled over the back of the ear, but me wear glasses...

supposedly, the e2c need not go that far in the ear canal compared wif er6 [read on head-fi]

price range roughly similar

e2c 180

er6 235

ok I heard barradio's e2c yesterday when I went over.

Here's my thought:

the sound is very good if you only have to pay 180 for it. The isolation is good, the sound is also quite good lah. it has quite plenty of bass, details and the vocal sounds quite sweet. really something .. because it's so small yet sound so good. Also the best thing is.. NO microphonic.

If I only have 180 , I might get it.

Minus the michrophonics how is it compared with the ER-4S in terms of detail?

er... can't compare...

the 4s sounds clearer and has more details.. with the shure e2 you need to crank it up higher to hear the details.. it's a lil more muddy sounding too..

but I can recall bass is pretty good and slamming given its size. ety is tighter though..

of course we are comparing 2 headphones that are in a different price range, so not fair. But for me, shure is the company to look out out for wink.gif .. unless etys is releasing the one with newer no microphonic cord.. hehe.. they are gonna face a stiff competition soon.

Now waiting for that cord kicking.gif ..then I am gonna get mine hohoh

e1 is good.

Heard e2 bass overpower.

e1 is very expensive. US$159 in the Shure website. Roughly S$300 I guess.

E1 is very light as compared to e2. ER-6 seems even lighter.

you seem to have forgot to include if u used the foam or plastic buds.
