I personally don't think you'll need an extremely good headphone (hp) for gaming and/or movies. A simple cheapo set will do, unless u are also into music, then the music hp can double up for gaming/movies. I would avoid all "gaming", "movie" labelled hp ...

I hated the fit, sold it off rather quickly ...

As an early E500 owner, YES - the early models had a bad cable ... the SE530 seems to have a better cable which is very different from the early E500 .

Sure, it's actually a simple setup. PC connected to the 0202 via USB, MS2i via the 0202 headphone out. On the PC side I playback FLAC with winamp and ASIO. Maybe you could be more specific on the grey areas and I could elaborate more.

The amp is then purely driven by batts? Won't be possible to have the usb connected, without batts whilst still having the amp enabled? No option of having the amp powered by usb ?

I gave up on rockbox. Lower battery life was ok, but standby still took alot of current, resulting in difficult resets should the rockbox'ed ipod be left un-used and un-charged for more than several days.

I don't think laptop amp drive will be a problem for most headphones. However the quality is typically lacking. On my laptop, I can "hear" the harddisk access - whenever there is a disk access, there will be some "zzzz" heard via the internal amp.

I've seen some comments that the sansa clip will also get FLAC support, but don't see any firm announcements. Anyone knows otherwise ? Thanks,
