No problem. Just to highlight one point. All coax cables are the same. That is to say, whether they are for networking or digital audio, they are the same cable. Hence more easilly available.

The signal is digital in nature. As long as the light intensity doesn't degrade over a certain level, the signal is lossless.

From what people have mentioned of the PA2v2 compared to LDM+, at first the LDM+ would appear to have lean bass but it's actually the PA2v2 having boosted bass. So if you want a more neutral response, the LDM+. For more bass, the PA2v2. YMMV

Why not see if someone here can let you audition it first so that you can tell if it'll suit you?

Does your cd player have optical out in the form of the 3.5mm jack? if it has, it would be easier since you just need to find the right connectors. I was assuming you were having a cd player deck with coax spdif.

I've made one before. You can make it for under 10 dollars. The circuit is below. The picture does not include the optical side in the form of a TOSLINK module. It's easilly implementable through the use of a resistor and bright red led in series. For the resistor, you can try about 100 Ohms. Should be very bright. Then you get a 3.5mm audio socket with an open back to stick the led head at. One last thing, a 74HCU04 for the 7404 is highly recommended.

I think it's more the sound signature that's causing this problem not the clamping force as he has said. Anyhow, if it doesn't suit you after burning it in, just stick with something more dark like your senns.

I'm also thinking it's the brighter sound of the MS1 that's causing it. Senns are known to be darker. Why not listen a bit more. You might be able to get used to it.

Another thing, the PSP may not have enough volume (voltage swing) to be loud enough for the cans. I'm using MS1 on my PSP and I have to use it at near max volume. An amp would help.

What you can try to measure is AC voltage and check the ripple.

Kind of wrong place to post this. Most IEMs are quite sensitive as they are and wouldn't need an amp. Another thing is since the person uses an IEM, they wouldn't want the bulk associated with an amp. An amp is more for the headphone or higher impedence IEMs. My 2cents. Oh yea forgot to mention that some people use velcro.
