  1. Perhaps you can try plugging it into a preamp with music playing at higher volumes. At least higher current passes through compared to normal line level resulting in a shorter burn in period.
  2. i think he won't complain if he receives sufficent $$ and headfi names.
  3. Latest news is the latest date for ordering is 30th September. Now I'm a little tempted.
  4. definitely. had experience in sony earphones totally ruined.
  5. actually more of a responsibility. they have a licence and name to maintain. what if the contact lens is not really suited for the person and in the worst case become blind?? so it is best to check just in case...
  6. Sounds like a good setup with a wide variety of cans to suit different music. How about a pair of Ety 4S for the ultimate in isolation?
  7. frameless glasses are extremely fragile

  10. You can try Bill Evans. BTW Waltz for Debby is an album by Bill Evans Trio. Highly recommended together with Sunday at the Village Vanguard which is recorded together. Stan Getz Jazz Samba is good stuff also. I think the style of jazz you like is Cool Jazz.
  11. This is what Ipod Shuffle should have been the first time round. Very nice. $348 for the 2gig and $438 for the 4gig.
  12. Thanks to Albert for the offer. I'm in most probably.
  13. pretty nice and sounds a little like triphop. you may like bands like massive attack and portishead.
  14. Actually it will be very hard to recommend you anything if you do not have a point of reference. Let's just say the beyerdynamic DT880. Some might say they are bright, some may say they are dark. I've experienced both before depending on pads, equipment and length of burn-in etc. For sennheiser hd650, it can be described as heavenly or muddy. So until you've tried something and have a reference, it would be difficult to guide you along as everyone's ears are different. Preference for type of sound plays a major part here. I'll advice that you get a headphone with the sound you like first before embarking on amp, source and IC. Anything Audio(entire beyerdynamic range) and maybe Hung Brothers will allow you to test try headphones.
  15. Any news on it Stereo Electronics?
  16. Sennheiser HD490 is really terrible. Totally muddy and bloated bass. I believe the SR60 will be an upgrade to that. If you have the money, try to go higher in the Grado series.
  17. what kind of music is pole folder? interesting name.
  18. different sound presentation? I tried the shure e3c and it was veiled like you described. maybe you prefer the sound of the triport more than the e5c. maybe you'll like those grados or etys 4s.
  19. Haven't bought any Sony electronics for many years. They are far to fragile and unreliable in my experience.
  20. parametric eq? sure?
  21. but, but can all these cds be found in the sale?
