N@Z 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 Holey moley, that's one big mother. Looks longer than the 80-400mm VR lens but alot thinner (to obvious me thinks). I don't really need that sort of reach although it may be fun initially. Probably will still stick with either the 80-200mm D or 70-200mm VR & add in a nikkor 2x teleconverter should I need the reach later. do any of u guys actually use a camera vest when shooting? I don't like to carry a bag around, so a vest may be a better solution. The Nikon vest may attrach too much "attention" should look for something without logos of the major camera brand I prefer neither, discreet look, then out of the blue - slight of hand - out comes a DSLR with all the elongated paraphenelia to capture the 'suspect' red handed only to disappear into thin air after the 'deed' has been done. Yeah baby!

Q00 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 Ahaha.... i saw that pic a quite recently... caused quite a stir! Law tube anyone? N@Z i might be wrong but the nikon teleconverters dont have electrical contacts so u lose the vr/metering/af functions.
Q00 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 Oh yeah...thanks for the kind words Bram! Thought u might like that.
N@Z 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 (edited) Yep, that is beef rendang blues. There was also frittered fish with mango which I particularly enjoyed. The 80-400mm VR is more than enough reach for me! I understand the AF-S Teleconverter TC-20E II is specifically designed for & compatible with Nikkor AF-S & AF-I lenses & only reduces the aperture by 2 f-stops. I'm not sure about the metering but the VR & AF will still work. Edited March 14, 2005 by N@Z
