N@Z 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2005 on my SB600, the channel has to be 3 and group is set to A, or else the flash won't fire, this is according to the manual should be the same for the SB800 ... Your tip works thanks. Some test shots using the SB800 as remote & built-in flash as commander...
tropicalrips 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2005 very nice exposure and colors N@Z what did u use as the backdrop? i'm waiting for my 50mm 1.8, wanted to get it today but they ran out of stock, hav to wait till friday also check price for Nikon FM-10, $350 for the kit but no warranty, i think its NOS (new old stock)
N@Z 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2005 Thanks. Backdrop is a cheap 1m wide x 4m long terquoise cotton cloth. I used it previously to simulate the backdrop for passport photos as I was making an organisation chart with photos on it using my own digicam. I'm thinking of getting another one in white colour. Good for taking product shots.

tropicalrips 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2005 i'm finally trying the RAW format seems to hav more details...or is it just me the teddy shot was taken in jpeg medium size-fine quality but it did giv me the green that i was looking for auto contrast in Nikon software, resize in Elements
jasonhanjk 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2005 I like the green, color is good. Too bad the HDB is too white. I think having the camera taking the full screen of green would be better?? What you guys think?
N@Z 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2005 If you intend to use post processing then RAW format will be best as it stores alot of detail. N@z: such a huge blower! Pit it against mine and we will have goliath vs david show! Behave!!! I tried out the older AF VR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED this afternoon after work. These shots were taken from the shop's main entrance, across a dual carriage way road to the other side. At 116mm... At 400mm... The range is fantastic, better image quality than the 24-120mm VR but it's kinda bulky for handheld. Both shots were taken handheld BTW which is saying alot as I have particularly shaky hands. I can only imagine what the 70-200mm VR is like. Ooohhh!!! I am sooo tempted now!
Rameish 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2005 Wah N@Z, if you get all those long zoom lenses you can become PI lah.
tropicalrips 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2005 so our fearless leader will be the first to own the "big gun" the shots look good N@Z, i really like the chrome in my "green" shot, the HDB was under sunlight while the trees were in the shade, i should hav used a higher F-stop and blur the background
