N@Z 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2004 Compay Seguino - Duets What can I say, I'm in love with this kind of music. I'm glad I grabbed this off Rameish's hands. Thanks again "Mr. Nice Guy"! Brilliant recording as usual & a nice accompanyment to the Buena Vista Social CLub CD. It however has a slight different flavour to the BVSC CD yet still highly enjoyable. On my next trip, someone has to bring me to the bigger Gramaphone Store in SG as I only know of the one on Orchard Road in the John Little building. Minimum 11 CDs will be bought! I guarantee! LOL! yongchris 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 just bought this yesterday. super funny, super vulgar. the lead singer is Jack Black (of School of Rock fame) basically a parody of heavy metal, played with acoustic guitars. nice lyrics and melodies and awesome guitar work by Kyle Gass Chris

yongchris 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2004 finally found this CD at some ulu shop.. I loved the movie, loved the book, and loved the music in the movie. but I don't love this soundtrack SAD to say. most of the songs I liked from the movie are NOT in this soundtrack. Even the Jack Black version of "Let's get it on" doesn't sound very good on the soundtrack. it sounds thin on the CD as compared to the performance on the DVD. They should release a "more songs from" soundtrack, and put in Lisa Bonet's version of "Baby I love your way" well, that's $30 down the drain. Chris
