peanutbutterjam 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2009 Ya, been waiting for someone to say that. All of you here are most welcome to drop by. But beware, hifi is super poisonous. Once you jump in, there's no turning back. It much more fun than headphone rig as everything little thing play a part. Honestly, no matter how good a headphone rig (I've even heard a multi million system in Japan recording studio. Both electrostatic and dynamic), it still can't replace hifi in every aspect. However, I do enjoy both setup. Each has it's own kind of presentation which give me a different experience in my music. You serious about the offer bro? I'll mop the floor this time Wa all the big cannons blown up in front alr Unfortunately I don't own a proper camera, so if you all don't mind some handphone pics of my humble setup:

hellfire112 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2009 My recent addition to my home rig. (lazy to take pictures, using some ebay picture) To my ears, the 4.5v DC powered D-171 lineout has come too close to matching my foobar(wasapi)>D3 line out dac, playing the same cd(ALAC lossless on foobar). At times i couldnt really tell the difference in sound between the 2 source. Considering that the D-171 is not recognise by headfi, I cannot imagine how the lineout of some of the top end vintage pcdp will sound like as compared to my laptop+dac setup. Any idea where can i get a D303 without giving up an arm or a leg? @Arthur, nice stax rig, is this the model that you told me you wanted to get? Very rare find that Srd7SB/MKII. Ya, been waiting for someone to say that. All of you here are most welcome to drop by. But beware, hifi is super poisonous. Once you jump in, there's no turning back. Do count me in if anyone's going. Always wanted to hear the SHL-5 in a home environment. Edited February 9, 2009 by jig_sg

Btw, you seem to be Audio Note customer as well. you're referring to the Airtight? Got that for my K1Ks but ended up using for my speakers more. So the K1Ks kindof in storage, popping out once in a while. Ical, where'd you buy the room treatments from? thinking of getting some diffusers and absorption panels. ical 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2009 Yes jig sg. Btw I use to own the Airtight too which I bought from Audio Note many years back. Very nice amp. Got them from Joamote from Echoloft. A local guru in room treatment. His stuff cost cheaper and works better than those branded ones selling at Adelphi. Do a search at Echoloft and pm him. A very friendly guy. Did lot of projects for others including those super high end. Highly recommended.
