  1. Does anyone know where to get an iriver clix 2 or a cowon iaudio 7? Normally i would go to merdeka audio in sim lim:) but they are out of stock. Any help would be very much appreciated!
  2. Does anyone have any lobang or recommendations to find jpop cds in Singapore? I tried going to HMV, but the cds are way way overpriced. $72 for a cd... and these people are wondering why piracy is so rampant these days... I'm actually specifically looking for this album by the duo Kiroro: I'm not old enough to own a credit card, so ordering online is not really an option for me. I already have the songs in mp3s... But ever since I got my ACS t2i, my thirst for FLAC has increased tremendously. Any ideas?
  3. Personally, I would forgo the customs and the amp. I would sell off the UM1 and get either an sf5, um2 or triple-fi. But that's just me.
  4. Started out 1.5 years ago with a pair with Sony MDR-EX71 (yeah, most of us seemed to have owned one at some point or another....) because I wanted some isolation, and I was listening to my music way too loud. It didn't take too long for the sleeves to deteriorate and lose quite a substantial amount of isolation and for the cable to strip itself bare, so after lots of consideration, I upgraded to a pair of UM2s. The complys had a really finicky fit to my left ear, so I made a jump to UM56 custom sleeves, which improved the sound a lot (at least to me), but i later still became unsatisfied. Then, on Monday night, I had just received my ACS t2s, probably ending my IEM journey for a long time to come. I'm still deciding whether to write a full fledged review, as I'm pretty tired these days. But if there is enough demand, I might actually get down to doing it...
  5. Although I will not say that the M3 has as good SQ as the X5, cowon's SQ in all of their mp3 players have been stellar in performance and definitely the best I've heard from an audio player. Not to mention, they actually listen to their consumers, supporting FLAC, using MTP etc. How many other mp3 player makers actually release 3 firmware updates in 2 weeks, as well constantly improve on their firmwares monthly? That's dedication to their consumers!
  6. I believe the BOSE triports and QC3 are available for audition at Lot 1 at Choa Chu Kang at Atlas (I think it is level 4) Anyways... I have heard the Qc3 and the triports for myself. Personally I find that they produce really crappy and muddy mids, you can hear all the noise in vocals. No doubt they cancelled sound pretty well (the QC3 that is), but the bottom line is that the sound was less than desirable, and that practically spoils it for me. For me the Qc3 and the tripods are way way way over priced, for the quality they produce, i would pay $160 for a pair, tops. Bose has very aggressive marketing, I do not disagree with that, along with nice showrooms and metallic finishes. Of course, looks arent everything, but it does play a great factor, after all, many people bought ipods just because "their friends were using it what". (I'm just quoting an example here).
  7. Perhaps it could be your ears? My left ear has always been a real ^*^%%&(* to get a good fit, even when i do, it never feels as snug as my right ear. I own a pair of UM2s as well, and I had always felt that the sound was not very well balanced, (ie the left side has less bass due to a poorer seal) The problem was irritating enough that i did eventually get custom earmolds, which solved the problem.
  8. Would just like to clarify... is what the head-fiers call "yearly maintainence" true? Throughout the period of time you have owned your sensas, have they ever malfunctioned on you and (touch wood) if they did, how much did you have to pay to get them repaired?
  9. Saw a guy wearing a pair of UEs (couldnt see if it was superfi 3 or 5) at Simei MRT station at about 2.15-2.20pm on tuesday. Would it happen to be any one of u guys?
  10. Damn you, aron!!!! It isnt available for anyone to try anyways
  11. Tried it at Stereo the other day. I found out that I wasnt the only one having trouble to get these to fit right. The sleeves are really soft, so I pushed them all the way in... only to find that i can hear absolutely no music. The problem is alleviated when i pulled them out slightly, then i can hear some music, but the bass becomes non-existant. I was totally unable to get a good enough fit to actually audition it (I have small ear canals), so I can't really say how it sounds like , but this probably isnt just for anyone, because the fit is really odd... do wonder how they sound with customs though.
  12. Saw a guy on the mrt today at about noon along the north-south line towards jurong east wearing a pair of ATH CK7. Gave me an odd look... either he was very surprised to see someone wearing something more expensive than him or it could be the 'why does this guy have wires coming out from his earaids?"
  13. This was a t-shirt logo design i did sometime ago for a competition, but i never really got down to submitting it, but i would just like to ask for you guys opinion of it, i dun mind designing one for SG Headphones. Too wild? maybe....
  14. UM2 (i think) i only happened to walk by, at bedok mrt at abt 2145 on the escalator in front of me...
  15. saw an ang moh wearing a pair of IM716 (yes, i swear it's true!) at jurong mrt today at abt 7.45 - 8 am!!!
  16. Sounds very interesting... they never mentioned how many colors the screen was though....
  17. I thought it was because pluto went to join mickey mouse and donald duck. (THE TRAITOR!!!!) Okay... not funny....
  18. The UMS players are usually the little flash players. Im not really sure why, but most of the higher capacity players like bundling in trashy transfer software like itunes, media source etc... Seeing that you got the CK7, i would say its not really gonna be very easy to find a solution. customs are of course an option, but for a CK7, i honestly do not think they are worth the expense, it would probably be better not to get the customs and get a UE superfi 5 or soemthing around that price range. The ck7 is only semi canal, so you would probably be hard pressed to stuff it any further. The ck7 has lots of bass, but its pretty flabby, that is the sound signature of the ck7.
  19. Well, i was wearing a UM2 not a UM1 and i was using a cowon a2, not a zen vivion, possible he got mixed up on both accounts there, seeing all the gadgets are close. Shocked? Of course i was shocked! How often do u see someone weaing something worth more than $100?
  20. Saw a girk wearing e3cs the other day... too bad she not cute Saw a schooling boy in uniform wearing a UM1 on the MRT at bedok to day. We looked at each other and it was a neutral agreement that we have good taste (Mines a UM2) Other than that tons of ibud users thinking they are listening to the best u can ever get.
  21. lol... honestly i thought u were gonna get a pair of iems, think u suddenly shocked everyone when u bought them. Are u gonna post up your classifieds?
  22. The sleeves really depend on you personally. I own a UM2, i find that i cannot use either shure flex sleeves or the yellow foam, because i get a drastic loss in the mids for either of them (the yellow foams destroy the bass as well) The flanges are nice, but way too hard and they hurt, at least for me. I personally use complys, but really the easiest thing to do is just to try them all.
  23. I wholeheartedly agree with you zeph. Most people buy the ipod video for the video functionality (or of course just to look cool) without realising that very ironically, the ipod video barely plays video. You shd have seen the faces of so many video ipod owners when they saw my a2, they were like all ready to sell their video ipods -_____________-"
