I saw another interesting headphone amp called the juliette if i recall correctly at jaben also by firestone audio. Unfortunately i did not get to audition them so i cannot comment on the sound. Build quality looks quite solid to me.

too late for that.. difference was quite huge... almost like um2 = stereo and um1 = mono... not to mention the price difference is huge too...

If you are buying for the sake of buying then yes. imho, they both present sound differently so i do not think its a proper comparison. Each phones may be suited towards different types of music.

i made the mistake of listening to the um2's before listening to the um1's... i thought that the um1's were not available for listening but they were.. in another corner i didnt see... the difference was astounding and i felt like i was listening in mono when i switched back to the um1's. quite worth the extra money to get the um2's but i will reserve my final judgement till i listen to the e5

er6i is a neutral pair of cans with a pretty flat eq. only thing is that the bass doesnt extend well into the lower bass like the rest but is nicely controlled and punchy.

You should enrol yourself in the frontallabs music academy or the redbull music academy. They specialise in dj courses. Both on the mixing and turntablism side of things.

Bigger soundstage than hd650? wow.. These look a whole lot more comfortable than the regular pads though...

i own a shuffle.. kinda hard to beat it for sound quality among the rest of the mp3 players.. even the nomad jukebox 3.. but to be fair, both players which i mentioned have their strengths and the njb3 has a line out while the shuffle has the best headphone out so far.

hmmm.. now that u mention it.. i think what i meant is that the er6 lacks lower bass extension. bass is there, but then again, im comparing it to my dt-150 which extends very low.

Firstly, welcome to the forum! Forrealistic production of sound is quite subjective i reckon, especially if there are many factors like your bitrate for your mp3, but if you dont want any 'enhancements' you will probably be looking for a neutral pair of headphones/iem. Off the top of my head, search the forums for: DT-150's - neutral but just slightly more bassy but not in a bad way, i own a pair of these. ety's er-6 - i think its neutral and clinical(very detailed) but u might find the bass slighty lacking but this is from memory only. For amp's do a search here and try lookin for the master amp.. its quite cheap (around 200) and neutral as well. Enjoy your stay mate.
