Anyway, 祝您生日快乐！！！ Wasn't the 'san' term used to address people of ages older irregardless of male or female as a symbol of respect? Hi there, In Japanese, normally 'San' is a honorific term used for both sexes however for young ladies normally before childbirth, 'chan' would be used. 'chan' is also used in children regardless of sex. In this case, yotiao-chan. 'San' would normally be used on older women. I'm not some expert but this is what I know.
